Lack of Activity

I apologize for the lack of activity on the site. I have been working on other programming projects and going to school. I have created many more C++ programs and PHP programs for class and personal use. Daman371designs will be changing up a bit, getting a new look and feel in the future. I intend to create a fully customized version and launch a few new sites. Stay tuned for more information.

More Future Modifications

I plan to make modifications to the Programs section. The programs will have screenshots and other useful information available without going to the downloads section. When I first opened the Programs section, I noticed it was not very interesting. This will change with the modifications.

Intended Updates

Daman371Designs is due for some changes. Below is a list of changes intended. The timeframe for completion is unknown at this time.

PHPCipher

PHPCipher is used to encrypt PHP to prevent unauthorized reading, modifying, and reverse engineering of PHP code. Enter "HEPHJ" (without quotes) as a promotional code and save now.

Frets on Fire

Frets on Fire is a free PC alternative to Guitar Hero. Unfortunately, it does not even match up to Guitar Hero. The number of songs are limited and keyboard controls are not user friendly. Scoring also does not work very well. Overall, it is better to just buy Guitar Hero for a console.

A new blog with reviews of products has been launched at reviews.daman371designs.com. Product reviews include computers, electronics, and music.

Britain Video Game Ban

Britain has banned the game Manhunt 2 from being released in British stores. Britain claims that the game is too gory. The game puts the player in the position of being a killer. Game banning has occurred before in countries. Postal 2 is an example of a game that was banned in many countries due to the nature of the game. For more information on the Manhunt 2 Ban click here.

Orcas Beta

I just finished installing Visual Studio 2008 Codename Orcas Beta. The download is very large but it is well worth it. It comes with Visual C#, Visual Basic, Visual C++, Visual Web Developer, and a few other tools. I have not tried compiling anything. Orcas looks similar to Visual Studio 2005 but I do not know if they compile code the same.

Free Useful Programs

Free software is becoming more popular. 7Zip is a free compression program that I commonly use. It is a little better than the builtin Windows utility for creating zip files. The program creates zip files and its famous 7zip files. The program also extracts the files from zip and 7zip archives. Winamp allows users to create playlists and listen to music from files and even stream from shoutcast servers. My desktop uses two antivirus programs, AVG Free and Bitdefender Free. AVG works most of the time but has a problem with some spyware but Bitdefender usually cleans it. If Bitdefender does not clean the spyware I turn to Ad-aware. Ad-aware removes spyware, adware and even tracking cookies. My computer did not come with Office so I use Open Office to open, edit, and create Word Documents.
